BQ, you raise another subject which I feel needs to be discussed. My wife, like you started playing when she was 13...she is the reason I have the addiction. We have played on may courses over the years, and it seems the ladies tees are almost always an after thought...sort of like the course architect said, "oh, crap I forgot the lady tees...lets just stick them over here!" My wife, when we were younger and more limber, would always play the front men tees, just so she would have a better view/approach to the fairway and not have to alter her shot to get around a tree or some other thoughtlessley placed obstacle. So, it sort of makes sense that women have to recalculate a slope rating...another thoughtlessley placed obstacle.
