I haveing played several rounds from a tee box that only has a Men's Rating/Slope on the card. Is there some way to convert the Men's Rating/Slope for a Women playing back? I would like to have an accurate handicap. I've heard there is something on the USGA web site but could not find it.

Everything I read on USGA.com indicate that gender is not a factor when calculating your handicap based on certain rating/slope values, but I'm sure some of our more experienced and educated PGA professionals will be able to shed more light on the question.

Think I found my own answer....on the USGA web site under handicap manual section 10 is a convertion table! Yes, I can now play what ever tees I want and still keep a legitimante handicap.

I knew there was a conversion table from tee to tee. Is it gender-based, or strictly based on which tee you're playing from?

There is a gender factor. If you look at almost any score card the front tees are rated higher than the next set of tees. The course I play has the first and second set of tees rated for women. The second set is rated for men also. In other words it has two ratings for the second set of tees. I'm not sure about the conversion table yet, haven't had time to review the details. My club assistant pro just called me to tell me what they found out. I did a quick search to find the table but did not have time to review.

Well I found the table on the USGA website for calculating a temporary course rating. This will work for men or women playing any tees or combination of tees not rated. On the web site go to the Handicap Manual, section 5. Then down to 5-2g. There you will find a table and instruction on calculating a temporary course rating. I love being able to play from where ever I want too.
