Boys n Girls,

Sort of off topic... But I have a Droid and use FreeCaddie for my GPS unit. I use the free version which only gives you yardage to the front, mid, and back of the green. It doesn't show distance to bunkers, water, hazards like some of the pay versions do, but it does what I need it to do. Also I've used it in Florida (Bay Hill), California (Torrey Pines) Texas (Dallas Cowboys GC), NM (Black Mesa), UT (The Swamp, Boutiful GC, and others), and all over Colorado this year. Never once has it been incorrect (within a yard) or not properly worked. Oh and I have no affiliation with the maker.

Back on topic, I have a college buddy who's working on GPS/scoring software for smartphones that sounds like it will be really dynamic. For the sake of his privacy and the fact he's still working on his software, I'm not going to tell the world about make makes his product dynamic. However I would be willing to get anyone in touch with him if you want to know more about his product. I know personally I badger him constantly to let me be a test dummy for him. He might want to have more golfers for all over the US to use his product during the R&D phases and it might be a great way to get some free software. Send me a message if you're interested and I will try to get him to answer his phone sometime today!

Doesn't really help with tracking your game but I'm looking forward to trying iswing golf. It's a video app that allows you to break your swing down in slow motion and use drawing tools to work on the swing. Doesn't really relate to the topic but thought I would add it. I've never seen my swing before and I'm looking forward to working on it visually rather than the feel approach I've used in the past.

But still you have to find that instructor that can communicate to you. It is strange how two people can be telling me to do the same thing in two different communication styles and one I totally get the other doesn't even register.
